100% recycled rubber mulch; combined with a binder ; mixed on site and levelled out to provide a more attractive natural looking and cheaper option to traditional granulate wet pour. This hand finished surface is ideal for schools, playgrounds or even under children’s play equipment at home.
With a choice of colour (or colour combination) Tygar “Soft Surface” Surfacing can be laid directly onto most existing substrates, with no need for a formal sub-base. Thus creating a more cost effective, aesthetically pleasing and safe soft surface for a variety of applications.
With a choice of naturally coloured aggregate, you can create a dramatic effect with one colour, or mix and match to your heart’s desire.
Children’s safety is paramount. Tygar “Soft surface” Surfacing has been tested to be fully compliant with BS:1177 safety standard and is certified to have a Critical Fall Height (CFH) of up to 3.2m when 40mm depth is laid on grass.
The criss-cross matrix of the shredded rubber that makes up the surface means that “Soft Surface” is not too smooth, resulting in excellent non-slip properties in both dry and wet conditions.

SUDS
Tygar “Soft Surface” Surfacing is SUDS compliant. SUDS, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems, came into effect the UK Government Legislation in October 2008. SUDS are surface water and drainage management methods and actual devices designed to tackle excess water in a sustainable and economical way, compared to current conventional systems. Surface water needs to be removed naturally, particularly in built-up areas to help prevent flash flooding.
Tygar Surfacing have been developed as a SUDS compliant pervious systems, it allows water to soak through the surface, helping prevent the rapid surface water runoff that causes flash flooding.
Tree Pits
Tygar “Soft Surface” Surfacing is the ideal solution to the problems associated with open tree-pits or metal tree grills as litter, trip hazards, weeds, etc. Tygar “Soft Surface” Surfacing, along with other Tygar Surfacing products, is a system that creates a hard wearing, natural finish that compliments any environmental improvement scheme; and is fully permeable, therefore allowing water to pass through to the roots of the tree without the need for water tubes.
